A career in email marketing wasn’t on my radar until an out-of-the-blue junior-year internship changed everything. I got the call while I was sitting in the library and had a split second to decide: Do I drop my Design Studies minor to take this 15-hour/week internship? On a whim, I said peace out to my minor and plunged into the world of email marketing for small businesses.

I had just landed a role at iContact, a leading email marketing software company, where I got a crash course in everything from writing to list segmentation to deliverability. Turns out…it came naturally to me.

A year before this, I was actually writing a monthly newsletter for my university’s Business Sustainability Collaborative inside a now-defunct platform called Bronto (RIP).

At that point, I was still questioning, “Does email marketing even work? Is it still worth it?

At iContact, I truly discovered the power of sending one message to hundreds, thousands, and even hundreds of thousands of people at once.

From there, I went on to work at a digital marketing and video production agency. I started by managing blogging, social media, and email marketing, and then moved into client account management less than a year later. By the time I left the agency world, I was a Marketing Communications Manager directing Voice of Customer research, branding and positioning, and marketing strategy.

Nearly a decade later, I’ve consulted and worked with dozens of creatives and service providers to build organic search and email marketing strategies that connect, convert, and grow their businesses.

These days, I’m offering full-service email marketing exclusively inside Flodesk (my fav platform offering email marketing for small businesses). Check out how I’ve structured this service offering and how we can work together!
